THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT.

THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT. M/V HB 9V27 TEXT: RV 20V11-15. This lesson falls into the group of the study of the last things otherwise known as eschatology. It is chronologically arranged to occupy the sixth position under eschatological studies and 20th position in the twenty-two (22) doctrines of the Bible. This lesson is not new to any member of Deeper Life Bible Church. The Great White Throne Judgment is when God finally judges all who have ever lived on the surface of the earth, according to their works. (RV 20v13) All those from all ages, who have not been judged will stand before God at this time to receive their own judgment. (Mt 25v46) Believer’s judgment had been accomplished through the Blood of Jesus Christ (Jn 5v24; 3v17-19) In RV 19v11, it is a White Throne because the righteous Judge will be the one to mount the Throne. Therefore:  Nepotism is totally ruled out,  Tribalism has no place to stand  Bribery will not be acceptable, He cannot be bribed  He is going to judge without respect of persons, the judgment of the world is based on who you know or how much you can offer.  There will be no miscarriage of justice because God is Omniscient, He knows all things. Question 1: How are earthly judgments different from the Great White Throne Judgment? We are going to consider this lesson under the following sub-headings: (1) JUDGMENTS IN THE SCRIPTURE (2) THE GREAT TERRIBLE AND FINAL JUDGMENT (3) THE ETERNAL ABODE OF THE CONDEMNED (4) ESCAPING THE DOOM OF THE CONDEMNED P1: JUDGMENTS IN THE SCRIPTURE (Isah 53v4-11; Jn 3v15-18; 2Cor 5v10, 11; 1Tm 5v24; Jude v6) In Hb 9v27; 2cor 5v10> As we browse through the Bible, there is that general believe that judgment is certain, Believers need not to be afraid because the righteous God will never make mistake to punish the innocent with the sinners.  He judges the world in time of Noah with flood, the innocent people were exempted  He brought judgment upon Sodom and Gomorrah; He acquitted Lot and his family  He brought judgment upon Datan, Korah and Abiran while the other innocent Israelites were spared. Other types of judgment are as follows: (1) When penitent sinner personally appropriates the vicarious sacrifice, reposes his faith in the Saviour and accepts His Lordship, such is justified by grace (Eph 2v8; Rm 8v1, 2; Jn 3v18) (2) Another type of judgment is when we daily examine ourselves in the mirror of God’s Word (1Cor 11v31, 32; 1Jn 1v7) (3) There is this other type of judgment that believers are going to experience at the “Berma” seat of Christ (Rm 14v10; RV 22v12) this judgment is not unto condemnation but rather to reward believers. Reward will not be the same, and some peoples work shall be burnt (1Cor 3v14, 15) The other types of judgment will be with intent to punishing sin:- (1) The judgment of Israel during the great tribulation (Ezek 20v33-44; Jer 30v3-11) (2) The judgment of the living Nations at Christ’s Second Advent (Mt 25v31-46; Rm 11v26) all Israel shall be saved at the end of everything………because (Zech 12v10)…….they shall look up to the Lord whom they have pieced (these are otherwise regarded as the Great Tribulation Saints) In 2Pt 2v4; Jude v6, 7…..this is another type of judgment, the judgment of angels. Question 2: “Mention different types of judgment in the Scripture, supporting your answer with references. P2: THE GREAT TERRIBLE AND FINAL JUDGMENT: (RV 20v11-15; Dan 7v9, 10; 12v2; Mt 11v20-24; Jn 5v25-30; Acts 24v15) RV 20v11-15; RV 2v7; Gen 6v5, 6; Ezek 18v4; Rm 6v23. Since the beginning of the World, God has been judging sinners:  He judged the world in the days of Noah (Gen 6v17, 18; 7v10-13; 21-24)  He poured out His wrath and indignation upon Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed all that were in them except Lot and his two daughters …… Gen 19v13, 24-26  He brought judgment on Korah, Datan and Abiram with their supporters  He punished the Egyptians for refusing to let His people go.  At various times, He brought judgment on Nadab and Abihu; on Uzzah ; on Sennacherib and his one hundred and eight-five thousand (185,000) Assyrians soldiers (Isah 37v38) and  On Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5v10) Question 3: “Highlight past judgment on sinners in the Bible and what believers can learn from them. What then is this judgment? RV 20v3, 7….. The battle of Gog and Ma-gog will be the last battle, then the judgment: The settings of the Judgment are as follows:- (1) The Throne, (2) The Judge, (3) Those to be judged, (4) The judgment, (5) The books, (6) The Book of life. (1) The Throne: - The Great God of Heaven and earth cannot but seat on a throne; it is whit because it represents His purity. (2) The Judge: - The Judge is God Almighty. There will be no miscarriage of justice because He is the all-knowing God. (3) Those to be Judged: - (RV 20v12, 13). All those who died in sin from the time of Adam till the time of the Great White Throne Judgment will be resurrected (Dan 12v2; Jn 5v28, 29; Acts 24v15) All categories of sinners, backsliders, all those who deny the deity of Christ and all religious hypocrites. (4) The Judgment: - Everyone will be judged according to his works (RV 20v12, 13). (5) The books: - These are the books of records that will contain everything done by men while on earth. (6) The Book of Life: - Only one book (verse 12). This is the Book that contains the names of all those who are born-again. Que4: Describe in detail the make-up of, and proceedings at the Great White Throne Judgment. P3: ETERNAL ABODE OF THE CONDEMNED: (RV 20v10, 14; 19v20; 14v10, 11; Mk 9v43-48; Mt 25v41). RV 20v15…….There is no escape for sinners after death, this is the time of escape if anyone wants to escape, and he or she must repent. (Hb 12v29; 10v31; RV 20v10; Mt 25v41 ;) The fire will burn forever (RV 14v10, 11) Que 5: Describe the plight of the condemned in the lake of fire. P4: ESCAPING THE DOOM OF THE CONDEMNED:- (2Pt 3v9-14; 1Pt 4v7; Jn 3v3,5,16; Mk 1v15; 1Pt 5v8,9; 1Tm 4v16) In Jn 3v3……. God is not willing that anyone should perish (2Pt 3v9; Mk 1v15)  Genuine salvation through repentance and faith in Christ is demanded from everyone who hopes to escape.  Living a holy life  Making restitutions  Following peace with all men and  Avoiding all appearances of evil. Que 6: “How can one escape the Great White Throne Judgment?
