UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO PERSONAL EVANGELIZM.

INTERNATIONAL BIBLE TRAINING COLLEGE IBADAN CAMPUS. UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO PERSONAL EVANGELIZM. JN 4V34; JN9V4; ACTS 10V38. These verses of scriptures reveal to us how Christ was so committed to personal evangelism. We can see that hunger could not hinder Him when He accosted the Samaritan woman, not only that He knew that the time is shot and that both the soul winner and the soul so addressed cannot live forever; (Jn 9v4), the night of death when no man can preach may soon come when the preacher may not have the privilege of preaching the gospel anymore, not only that, the night of death may come earlier than expected when unrepentant sinners will never have the privilege of repentance anymore because there is no repentance in the grave (Hb 9v27). We also learnt that Christ moves from one place to another in search of souls and ministering to the needs of the people, today, the Lord will meet your needs in Jesus name. We are going to consider three points: (1) JESUS ONLY IS OUR MESSAGE (2) JOYFULLY FEEDING THE FLOCK OF CHRIST (3) JEALOUSLY WATCHING OVER THE FLOCK OF CHRIST (1) JESUS ONLY IS OUR MESSAGE: (ACTS 8V5; ACTS 9V20; ACTS 10V36; 1COR 1V23; 2COR 4V5) Jesus Christ is the Center theme of the Scriptures, the various references from Genesis to Revelation attest to this fact. All the preachers in the Bible made reference in one way or the other to Christ. In Acts 8v5, Philip preach Christ to the City of Samaria, not only that, in Acts 9v20, Saul, immediately he received Christ, he wasted no time but took up the mandate of Christ concerning the Great Commission and he preached Christ. Every true believer should preach Christ only, not Church founders, neither denominations nor self. (2) JOYFULLY FEEDING THE FLOCK OF CHRIST: (1PT 5V2; ACTS 20V28; JER 3V15; EZEH 34V23; JN 21V17;) In 1PT 5v2, we are enjoined to feed the flock of Christ, not by constrained but with joy. How do we feed the flock? We feed the flock by preaching the gospel, disseminating the good news of salvation by grace. We can also feed the flock through our lifestyles, our comportment, as well as our attitudes, in fact, we should live by example. As Shepherds we must feed God’s sheep with the approved balanced diet so that the flock do not become malnourished. (3) JEALOUSLY WATCHING OVER THE FLOCK OF CHRIST: (ISAH 62V6; EZEK 3V17; HB 13V17 ;) In Isah 62v6, the flock of Christ are bought with great price (the Blood of Jesus) therefore we must watch, guide and guard jealously over these flock, we are to labour night and day, be up and doing so that the flock of Christ would be preserved to the end. In Ezek 3v17, in the same way, we have been appointed as watchmen; we should keep to our responsibilities; hear from God & give the exact message received to the flock. In Hb 13v17, here we see the responsibilities of the flock, first, to be obedient to the Shepherd. This again reminded us of the need to be obedient to our Chief Shepherd (Jesus Christ the Son of God), it also underscore the reality of the new birth and Sanctification before ministry. I pray God would grant us the grace to be obedient and serve Him faithfully in Jesus name.
